Tahiti

The island of Tahiti is the largest of the islands in French Polynesia, and is by far the most populated with Papeete being the main city.  Here you’ll find the international airport (PPT) as well as the inter-island airport terminal.  There is a port where the ferry departs for nearby Moorea, as well as cruise port for Paul Gauguin Cruises.  To experience the Polynesian culture and if you have the time, it is worth a night or two in Papeete.  Also, you’ll find great surfing spots on this island and plenty to explore and keep you busy.
